They stack the odds, still we take to the street June 19, 2009

Currently following the situation in Iran via Huffington Post and the latest live thread at ONTD_P.

That’s a stolen election, that is. And a pretty sloppy one, at that.

A video from last Sunday covers earlier signs of suspicion.

Photos from recent vigils and rallies in Iran. Candles, flowers, pictures.

Marching with the photo of a martyr.

Smashed computers at Tehran University. (Because that will totally stop the Internet from getting out…)

Growing gallery of photos in support – submit your own.

Video stream with 24/7 updates.

More from Reza Aslan – a long and thorough interview.

Rallies and protests are being held worldwide. To find one near you, try here and here.

Those pictures beg for lolitic captions.

First one: “Math FAIL!”

Second one: “Oh noes they be killin mah Internets!” Or “The horror. The horror!”

Someone should find a picture of Ahmadinejad and put on it, “I accidentally the election.”

I have been following this very closely too. Hoping the Iranians overthrow their awful government in full. I missed the first protest in my city (June 14) but I will be at the second one tomorrow, wearing green and carrying a sign. Are you still in NZ and is there anything going on wherever you are wrt support rallies or whatever?

Erin Ptah - June 19, 2009

Still in NZ, and there’s absolutely nothing going on here. Well, a couple of mentions of trying to put something together in Wellington, but that’s on the other island and I can’t fly all the way up there.

Have been wearing my only green shirt, and blogging, and keeping my fingers crossed that, by the time I get back to the US in a week and a half, there won’t be any more need for the rallies.

Man, is it weird that when I heard about this my first thought was “Dudes, if you’re trying to throw an election, at least do it well”? That is the sloppiest corruption ever. This whole situation is messed up in so many ways. It’s awful.
